Support Groups
Our support group programs offer veterans a space to speak openly, listen deeply, and feel connected. At Path of Honor Foundation, we recognize that many veterans struggle in silence. Whether dealing with service-related trauma, loss of identity, or everyday stressors, support groups offer a powerful way to reduce isolation and promote recovery.
These facilitated group sessions are led by trained peer leaders who understand the military experience and the culture of resilience that can sometimes prevent open discussion. We create an environment where vulnerability is respected, stories are honored, and healing can begin.
Each group is structured around specific themes. Some groups are ongoing and open to all veterans, while others are time-limited and focus on particular topics such as post-traumatic growth, grief and loss, transition to civilian life, anger management, or relationship building. We offer both in-person and virtual sessions to accommodate different needs and locations.
Groups are intentionally small to promote trust, consistency, and personal engagement. Confidentiality is emphasized, and group agreements help establish safety and respect among all participants.
Support groups are not therapy, but they are deeply therapeutic. Participants gain strength from shared experience, new perspectives from peers, and the knowledge that they are not alone. Many veterans report that group participation helps reduce stress, increase self-awareness, and provide structure during difficult times.
All support groups are free to attend, and veterans can participate in as many or as few sessions as they wish. Our facilitators are available to meet with prospective participants beforehand to help determine the best fit.
