Peer Mentorship
Our peer mentorship program is the heart of Path of Honor Foundation’s mission. We believe that some of the most powerful healing happens when one veteran supports another through lived experience. This service is designed to connect veterans with trained peer mentors who provide emotional support, guidance, and a steady presence through life’s challenges.
Peer mentors are veterans themselves who have experienced their own journeys of recovery, reintegration, and growth. They are trained to listen without judgment, offer insight based on experience, and serve as a source of strength and accountability. Each mentor-mentee match is based on shared background, goals, and communication style to ensure a productive relationship.
The goal of mentorship is not to fix problems but to walk alongside someone as they navigate their own solutions. Mentors offer a mix of emotional encouragement, practical tools, and referrals to relevant resources when needed. Common areas of support include managing transition stress, rebuilding relationships, re-entering the workforce, and coping with trauma or loss.
We offer both short-term and long-term mentorship options. Some relationships last a few months and focus on a specific challenge, while others continue longer and develop into deep bonds. Regular check-ins, mentor supervision, and support systems are in place to ensure safety, consistency, and effectiveness.
Veterans interested in receiving a mentor or becoming one are encouraged to apply. All mentors receive training in trauma-informed support, boundaries, communication techniques, and resource awareness. The mentorship experience is designed to be mutually enriching, fostering purpose and connection on both sides.
